Congratulations 2020-21 AYS Musicians!
AYS 2020-21 auditions are now complete; however, there are a small number of open seats in a few sections. Applicants for these open seats will be chosen through video auditions until the seats are filled. Seats are available in the following sections: Viola, Cello, Bass, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Percussion, and Harp. Follow the instructions below to submit your audition. All applicants should be high school age up to age 21, as of September 1, 2020. Those requesting an exception to this policy should contact our office prior to completing the audition application at (907)538-6406.

Anchorage Youth Symphony Audition Registration is managed by the Accept’d Web Portal.
There is a $30 non-refundable audition fee.

Step 1 LOG INTO ACCEPT’D – Click on the button below to go to Accept’d and complete your audition registration. If you already have an Accept’d account, log in to your account and proceed to step 2. If you don’t have an Accept’d account, scroll to the bottom of the Accept’d log in page and click SIGN UP to create a free account.
Step 2 CLICK BROWSE PROGRAMS – and enter Anchorage Youth Symphony in the search bar that appears in order to submit an application.
Step 3 APPLY – Once you’ve reach the Anchorage Youth Symphony landing page, click SELECT INSTRUMENT GROUP and choose your instrument from the drop down menu. Then select the correct Program from the second drop down menu
Step 4 COMPLETE THE APPLICATION – Answer the questions included in the application as the musician who is applying.
Step 5 RECORD YOUR VIDEOS – Ensure that your entire body and entire instrument are visible in your videos. Also ensure your sound is recording loud enough to be heard. Videos DO NOT need to be professional quality. Phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, are all fine. Record and upload up to 5 separate videos including the required elements except sight reading, which is not required.
Note: record just 2 scales (1 major, 1 minor), the excerpts listed, and a short portion of a solo (up to 3 minutes).
