AYO Music Director Announces Retirement

Alaska Youth Orchestras begins a new chapter in the 2024-25 season. After three seasons of leadership, Dr. Bruce Wood is retiring from his position as AYO’s Music Director. “Working with young musicians has been a joy of mine for a long time,” says Dr. Wood. “It has been wonderful to see the growth of AYO these last three years. In honor of Linn Weeda’s 31 years as AYO Music Director, the Linn Weeda Scholarship Fund exclusively supports tuition scholarships for musicians are experiencing financial hardship, as well as to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion. Each AYS musician’s tuition is subsidized by $1300, leaving just $700 in payable tuition. The…

Support the Anchorage Youth Symphony Percussion section by contributing to the OFF-BEAT PERCUSSION FUND.
